Outside of the above times, courts may be booked in 1 hour sessions, subject to the regulations and priorities below. The court booking board is on the veranda outside the clubhouse.
Court Booking
Any court may be booked for a maximum period of 1 hour; periods start and finish on the hour.
A court is reserved by entering one of the playing members' surnames, and the day of the week, in the appropriate space on the booking board.
Bookings may only be made on the day of play - not before (except Floodlit courts, for which a weekly booking system operates - see the appropriate section of this site).
Members may book a maximum of 1 court for 1 hour, each day.
It is not permissible for members to book more than 1 hour by using another member's name, or by switching to another court.
In the event of a member(s) booking a court and that court is not being used immediately prior to the reserved hour, it may be used by that member(s) on condition that they give way to any other member during the initial period - if no other courts are available.
Members may only reserve a court for themselves. It is not permissible to book a court for other members.
Priority - The order of priority for court booking is as follows:
Club Periods and Club Matches
All other weekly Club Periods e.g. juniors / squads / 'open'
Tournament Matches - both Club and 'Outside', Senior and Junior.
Senior members (categories A, B & C) have priority over all other categories of member during all other times.
Doubles has priority over singles on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
A singles game has priority over someone practicing against the wall on court 6 - if all other courts are in use.
The Club Coach has priority on court 6 at certain specified times.
The smooth running of the club depends on the reasonable application and interpretation of these regulations at all times. If a situation arises that causes difficulty, please inform a member of the Committee.
